Terms and Conditions

Little A.R.K. is a friendly community organisation. These terms exist to keep everyone safe and our programmes running smoothly — not to create barriers. If you ever have a question about anything here, just get in touch and we'll explain it in plain language.

1. Who we are

The Little A.R.K. CIC ("Little A.R.K.", "we", "us", "our") is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is available on request. We operate community workshops, skills programmes, and creative initiatives primarily in the London Borough of Merton.

By using our website, attending our events, volunteering with us, or making a donation, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Using our website

2.1 Permitted use

You may use our website for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to use this website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality.

2.2 Accuracy of information

We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date. However, session dates, venues, and programme details can change. We recommend following us on social media (@LittleArk20) or contacting us directly to confirm the latest information before travelling to an event.

2.3 External links

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and linking to them does not imply endorsement.

3. Attending our workshops and events

3.1 Eligibility

Our workshops are open to all community members unless a specific session is designated for a particular age group or audience (e.g. Sewing beginner classes). Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless prior written arrangement has been made with the programme team.

3.2 Booking and attendance

Some sessions require advance registration. We ask that you cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance if you can no longer attend, so your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list.

3.3 Behaviour and community standards

Little A.R.K. is an inclusive, welcoming space. We ask all attendees to treat fellow participants, volunteers, and staff with kindness and respect. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave whose behaviour is harmful, discriminatory, or disruptive to others.

3.4 Health, safety and safeguarding

Participants must follow all safety instructions given by session facilitators, particularly when using sewing machines or tools. Little A.R.K. holds Public Liability Insurance. We operate in line with safeguarding best practice; any concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult should be reported to a session facilitator immediately.

3.5 Paid sessions

Where a session carries a charge, payment must be made in advance to confirm your place. Refunds will be offered if Little A.R.K. cancels a session. Participant cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session start time are non-refundable unless exceptional circumstances apply.

4. Volunteering with Little A.R.K.

Volunteering with Little A.R.K. is subject to a separate Volunteer Agreement, which will be provided upon acceptance of your application. By volunteering, you agree to:

  • Uphold Little A.R.K.'s values of inclusivity, kindness, and community care
  • Complete any required induction or training before working with participants
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the Programme Leader
  • Provide reasonable notice if you are unable to fulfil a committed session
  • Respect the confidentiality of participants and organisational information

Little A.R.K. reserves the right to remove a volunteer from its programme if conduct falls below the expected standard or if their continued involvement poses a risk to participants or the organisation.

5. Donations

5.1 Monetary donations

All monetary donations made to Little A.R.K. are used to fund community programmes, materials, operational costs, and the delivery of free or subsidised workshop places. Donations are non-refundable unless made in error, in which case please contact us within 14 days.

5.2 Textile and material donations

By donating textiles or materials, you confirm that items are clean, in reasonable condition, and legally yours to donate. Little A.R.K. reserves the right to decline donations it cannot use. Donated items become the property of Little A.R.K. and may be used in workshops, sold, or passed to community partner organisations at our discretion.

5.3 Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you may be eligible to boost your monetary donation through Gift Aid at no additional cost to you. Please indicate this when donating and provide your full name and home address. It is your responsibility to ensure you qualify for Gift Aid under HMRC rules.

6. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, workshop materials, branding, and the Little A.R.K. name and logo — is owned by or licensed to The Little A.R.K. CIC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any of this content without prior written permission.

Work created by participants during workshops (e.g. sewn items, crafts) belongs to the participant, unless it is made as part of a community product line for resale, in which case Little A.R.K. retains the right to sell the item and will credit volunteer makers' contributions to its social impact reporting.

7. Photography and media

We regularly photograph and film our workshops to document our impact, share on social media, and evidence our work to funders. By attending a Little A.R.K. event or session, you consent to being included in group photographs or video content used for these purposes, unless you notify a facilitator otherwise.

We will never publish close-up images of children without explicit written consent from a parent or guardian. Consent forms are available at the start of any children's session.

If you would like an image of yourself or your child removed from our platforms, please contact hello@littleark.org and we will act promptly.

8. Limitation of liability

Little A.R.K. takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and quality of its sessions. However, participation in any workshop, including the use of tools and equipment, is at the participant's own risk. Little A.R.K. shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss or damage to personal property brought to a session
  • Any personal injury arising from failure to follow facilitator instructions
  • Any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of our website or services

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our programmes, legal requirements, or best practice. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date of last revision shown at the top. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
